current event #3
Okay, so in the chapter they talked about how after age 3and a half, a person loses their conscious memories of experiences from before that age. They say this in mainly due to the fact that the major areas of our brain weren't developed at the time. I think that either the age estimate is wrong, or i am just a unique individual. I say this because i can remember a lot of things from when i was little. I can remember my mom changing my diaper, and i can even kinda remember my mom rocking me in a chair. I somewhat remember sleeping in my crib sometimes and seeing the toys dangle above me from that thing. I didn't know what they were at the time, but it didn't scare me at least. I don't know what my deal is however that i can remember that, but i was wondering if anyone else has memories before the age of 3 and a half?

Personally, I don't have any that come to mind. There is a memory of putting my big toe through the wall while trying to climb it which I know happened when I was very young, but I'm not positive that it was before the age of 3 and a half. SO, maybe you really are just "unique." :)
ReplyDeleteI think you are a very unique person. I do not remember anything before the age of 3 and specially not my mom changing my dipers or rocking me in the chair or anything like that.
ReplyDeleteYou have a good point. I think it depends on the individual. I don't have memories of being little but some people may why not
ReplyDeleteI used to think that I had memories of when I was an infant. I can recall sitting in my carseat while moving out of our old house that we moved out of when I was only a few days old. I was explaining this to my mother, and she said that I was at my grandma's house when they moved and that I had never really been in our old house. Still, I can recall everything around me. The conclusion that I came up with is I had seen pictures of our old house and just asumed that I had been there. I probably created this senario in a dream. Maybe that happened to you, or maybe you are extremely unique.
