Current event for chapter 7

So this week i learned about observational learning. It sounds very easy to comprehend, and it is. This week i taught a sunday school class, and we talked about TV's influence on them. It was pretty shocking to see how much TV had influenced them. When i read this chapter, i was surprised to see observational learning and its refernce to TV with anti social behavior. It made me think how bad TV actually is, and why so many older people don't like it because they see how it has change America.

  1. Some times I think that TV should be banned from the world. Really what do we really need it for. Most of the effects it has on people is negative. I may be easier to go back to radio only and safer for some. Tv influences how children grow up and who they become. Some crazy person may see a horror movie and decide to copy what they do. Televison is a bad influence on everyone. When you don't have a TV you are sheltered from a major part of the world. Though it may seem bad at first it is nice to live with out TV.

  2. I know what it's like to teach little kids like that. I teach CCD rather than Sunday School, but it's the same principle. I also see how observational learning impacts them in 3rd grade, but it's not usually TV that they are talking about, but the Edgar football players... so keep in mind how shocked you were that TV influenced the kids you taught when your around other kids. Because TV might be influencing them, but we are too! =)
